The spirit of Zen painting which dwells in its ornamentation

Drawn to decorative patterns in Japan and abroad, I explore the expression of decorative art in the modern era. Employing 'Saishiki kakizu' by Itō Jakuchū as a motif, I have reconstructed and presented the detailed superior techniques as traditional Japanese folk art and bowl patterns. The flowers which bloom inside the circles are expressed with a detailed touch, and in the patterned designs and the repeated use of colors, the expression of the notion of Zen can be seen simply by looking at the works one by one.
